EARTH CREATION

Image
Creation - How the World Was Made THIS GREAT WORLD in which we live did not always exist. The broad expanse of sky, which smiles upon us when days are fair, and frowns and weeps when days are foul, did not always form an arch above our earth-home. Long, long ago there was no world at all. There was no sun to shine, there were no stars to twinkle, nor moonbeams to play through the night shadows. But even then there was God for he ever has been and always shall be the same unchanging Divine Being. Then, away back in that long ago, at the very beginning of time, God made the world. Not as we see it today, for at first water covered everything, and all was darkness everywhere. What a strange, unfriendly world this must have been, for no living creature could dwell in it! But God planned to make it beautiful, so he caused the light to shine. This light he called Day and the darkness he called Night. And then the evening and morning of the first day of time passed by, On the second day Go...

THE COMING OF HOLY-SPIRIT

The Coming of the Holy Spirit IN A LARGE upper room in Jerusalem one hundred and twenty men and women were meeting daily to pray. These were disciples and friends who had been with Jesus while he lived on earth. These were the ones he had commanded to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Holy Spirit from heaven. And they were obeying his command. Although Jesus had now gone up to heaven, where they could no longer see him or hear his voice, yet these people were happy. They remembered his words, that power from heaven would soon be given to them. And they were waiting to receive this wonderful power which would come with the gift of the Holy Spirit. Ten days passed by after Jesus ascended to heaven, and another feast-day came for the Jews. This was called the Pentecost, and religious Jews from other lands had come to worship at the temple. The city was once more crowded with strangers from different parts of the world. In the large upper room the disciples and friends of Jesus...

GRIEVE NOT THE HOLY-SPIRIT

Image
THE PEOPLE WHO now worshiped with the apostles numbered about five thousand, many times more than those one hundred and twenty who were together praying on the morning when the Holy Spirit was given. This throng of believers met to worship God on the porch of the temple, called Solomon's porch, where Peter had preached after the lame man was healed.  Received and download your free E-books by given your free Seed gift and be blessed throughout 2019,Click the links below. https://rave.flutterwave.com/pay/e-booksfreeseed Click this links here to give in Euro  https://rave.flutterwave.com/pay/e-booksfreegiftseed Clicks this links here to give in Pounds https://rave.flutterwave.com/pay/e-booksgiftseed Clicks this links here to give in America dollar. https://rave.flutterwave.com/pay/ebooksfreeseedgift In all this great number of people the selfish spirit was not shown. WORD OF GOD YOUR SPIRITUAL MIRROR

Image
Most of us are familiar with this scene from  Snow White  in which the queen asks the mirror for answers. In the new year I would like to encourage us all to do something very similar. It may be a bit intimidating for some of us, but it will be well worth it and will lead to an increased sense of self-satisfaction and growth as the year progresses.  Before we get to this fun, enlightening and easy new tool, allow me to share a quick back story on how this came to my attention. Margie and I attended my work’s Christmas party last night. Not only is it rare that my work actually has a get together, but we had the opportunity to meet and talk to some new people as well. It is interesting what topics can come up when you share conversations with new people. Especially at the end of the evening after a few cocktails have been consumed. One of the people we shared conversation with was the wife of one of my coworkers. After raving about my lovely lady’s beauty, the discussio...

GOOD THOUGHTS

Image
We had a pleasant rain in the middle of the night. Not very hard. Just a touch of hail but it was minimal, and although it was a thunder and lightning storm, even that was very quiet. When I first went to the Azores, it only rained at night. I thought, “what a wonderful idea. How do they get the weather to cooperate like that?” Actually, later, when I move there with my family, I learned I was just lucky the first time. This thought brings up another good question. How often do we see a rare occurrence when we are someplace new, and just think that that’s normal for the place we are? This is a fair question, which grows based on assumptions.  The question also works both ways. How often when visiting another area do we see something that’s normal for them, and consider the occurrence rare? Both questions are based on what we know at the time. And, both thoughts could have right or wrong answers depending on whether or not we have all the facts....

THE FRUITS OF GRACE

Image
Sermon on Rom. 1:8-15, preached on January 10, 20 19 Bible Readings:  (OT)  Isaiah 32:1-20 / (NT)  Romans 1:8-15 Main Points: Introduction I. Giving thanks to God always II. Praising God for His saving work III. Encouraging one another in God Conclusion INTRODUCTION We continue listening to God’s word recorded in Romans, especially in ch. 1, and the message we hear is the Lord’s goodness to us all. This is the fifth sermon in this series. Last week, the message was from v. 7 with a title, ‘Grace and peace to you,’ and it was about how Christians in their new and born-again life must find God’s grace. And finding God’s grace, how we should realise and enjoy His eternal peace which is the result of His grace. That’s what the Apostle Paul wishes for his beloved brothers and sisters everywhere, saying, “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” The same should be our greeting to one another. Today, we have these verses, vs. 8-15, an...
