GOD ENJOYABLE LIFE

So in this post I will talk about a major way you can live life and enjoy it without stressing. God revealed this truth and wisdom to me in the book of Ecclesiastes. This book is about the way man thinks “under the sun”. You will see the highlighted phrase many a times in the book of Ecclesiastes. The book discloses the true psychology of man without God so you will see their habits, take them out of your life and thus sanctify yourself from the world.

So lets take a look at the life of a billionaire or a prominent person that you may so envy and lets see whether he is truly enjoying his life and his wealth:

 Ecclesiastes 4:4

And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

 Well well as we can see billionaires are not working hard to make more money to enjoy, they are making more money to out-do each other. It’s a very shallow world in the elite horizon. They do this so they can boast over the other about their net-worth and most will go to any lengths to do this. The wicked ones cut peoples wages to make more money, they hoard money so their net-worth won’t go down, they put so much pressure on their staff to produce unrealistic results all just to make more money and keep it to boast over his rich neighbour. Look at James 5.

James 5:1-4

Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you.

Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes.

Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.

Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty

 Can you see what I was talking about. Now you can understand why it is so hard to break out and be financially free. One reason is that money is not moving around enough by reason of the hoarding and your wages are being cut back but you do not know because inflation and all this economic jargon are covering it up. But don’t worry child of God, Jacob was in the same situation with Laban and God caused all of Laban’s wealth to come to him. In other words Jacob received the transfer of wealth. (Read the post before). God is still in the same business today and what happened with Jacob will soon happen to us believers. The signs are there!!.

But! I’m not preaching on transfer of wealth in this post. I am just showing you how the ungodly (rich or poor) are all so shallow and childish that they can never enjoy life. I will tell you a story. When I was in boarding school (secondary school) we were given packets of biscuit for snacks because we were not allowed money. I did something very childish and stupid. I started to save them and go hungry because I wanted to be richer than my friends and I was for some time. My friends envied me because I had a lot of biscuits and it was a very valuable commodity because hunger was a constant in boarding school especially one in Nigeria. But something happened, the term was soon over and guess what! I carried my supposed riches home. I felt so stupid because I did not even need it. I could buy as much biscuits as want. I could have enjoyed all my biscuits while in school. All that suffering was for nothing. So the moral of the story is this: enjoy what you have worked for while you can. If you save all the gold in this world, when you go to heaven it will be useless because the streets are made of gold so just enjoy your life. Here read this:

Ecclesiastes 3:22

So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?

Can you see. Having a better car than your neighbour doesn’t guarantee you any  enjoyment of life but read what the scripture says – “There is nothing better”. So just enjoy your work and do not compare yourself to others. In fact if you live like this, you will then have a peace that even the ungodly do not have. You will have a rest that even billionaires do not have. Money can buy everything on this earth but it cannot buy this rest/peace from knowing this. This is because billionaires have given up their rest, peace and morals because of their competition with one another. Guess what!! they too are also in this rat race. Don’t allow the money and the glam to fool you but you child of God do not have to join in.

You are rich in Christ for he was made poor so that we will be made rich in him 2 Corinthians 8:9. So maintain that confession and speak it all the time to your heart and keep believing. The chastisement of our peace was also upon him. He took our sin and curse so we can be made the righteousness of God in Christ. We have a salvation that cannot be lost but a salvation that is maintained ONLY by the blood of The Lamb. So enjoy this new life given by God and don’t waste it trying to compete with your neighbour.
