He Smote The Firstborn Of Egypt

Have you been struggling to make that breakthrough you need from one area to another?. Have you been looked down upon because you do not have the experience, qualification, charisma, personality etc. Or maybe you are persecuted for being a christian and people just try and halt your progress. Or maybe they are jealous of the favour they see on your life that gets you results.

Well I have good news as we believe in a God who smote the firstborn of Egypt. Catch the revelation as you read this scripture:

 

 

Psalms 135:8

He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, the firstborn of people and animals.

 

 

Now the reason why this scripture interests me is because it was only when God struck the firstborn, that Pharaoh let the Israelite go. Why? Why was it that particular plague that made Pharaoh to let go of the Israelite’s. It is because the firstborn signifies the strength and might of the nation at that time. Catch the revelation as you read another scripture:

 

 

Colossians 1:15

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

 

 

Psalms 78:61

And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy’s hand

 

 

In the above Psalms David said that God allowed his strength to fall into the enemies hand. This happened when the enemies of Israel captured the ark which contained Gods presence but lets look at substance. The strength of God represents Jesus who is the firstborn so when you think of firstborn of Egypt don’t think of it as being there mere children but see it as their strength and their might. Okay lets look at what Jacob said about his son Reuben:

 

Genesis 49:3

Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power

 

Can you see what firstborn signifies. It is the strength or might of a person or nation. Now how does that apply to this day and age. See every country you go to, they have something that they trust in. In countries in Africa a lot of people trust in dark magic to get them places. Countries in Europe trust in experience to get them results. Countries in Asia trust in intelligence to get them results. Countries in the Americas trust in qualifications. Why do they all trust in those things? It is because that is where there strength lies. These things always seem to get them results and that’s why they can afford to leave the common believer behind whose trust is in the Lord and not these things. But God is smiting their firstborn. God is making their false ground useless. God is bringing them to a place where their strength is meaningless and they would have no choice but to trust in the wisdom of God.

The Pharaoh in Josephs time had many satraps and soothsayers but none could interpret his dream except the one with the wisdom of God. Nebuchadnezzar had many magicians but none could tell and interpret his dream except Daniel who possessed the wisdom of God. Those kings had many satraps and magicians because that was their strength of the day. But God made their strength to fail in order to promote his own. Child of God can I be honest? There has to be a failure somewhere before you are promoted in that area, that’s if you yourself are not trusting in these things. The promotion will also come when their are many of those people whose trust are in intelligence, experience, qualifications, etc. You really cannot compete can you? but that is when God is raising you up to confound them for God uses the weak things of this world to confound the mighty. So do you see many people putting their trust in intelligence, experience, qualifications etc? Get ready because the failure of those things are about to happen suddenly and your promotion shall soon follow.
