LIVING LIFE THAT HONORING GOD

A Life of Honouring God: Holy Communion and Tithing

Do we take holy communion for healing? No, because that is as good as saying we take it to receive the remission of sins. No we already have the remission of sins, and therefore we already possess healing. Just as far as sin is from you so is sickness. We take the holy communion to remember and honour Christ for giving us those gifts.

Now this will be a very long post filled with deep revelations. Only the mature can take them because it has to do with giving something. Have you noticed in the natural that children are naturally selfish. All they do is receive from the parent and never give back and that is fine because they are children. But a time comes when they would have to grow and instinctively a desire comes to give back to the parents out of appreciation. Can they ever repay back the parents? No! but they can give whatever they have to acknowledge/remember/honour them. So this is how you determine who is mature or not in a specific area. Do they hold back forgiveness! then they are immature in that area. Do they hold back money! then they are immature in that area.

God wants us mature in all areas. The main areas he wants us mature in, is tithing and offering and the Holy Communion. So get ready for a lot of scripture here.

Matthew 26:26-28
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Luke 22:19
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

Keep meditating on these scripture and you will see that the Lord’s supper was not for healing but for remembering the Lord. Why remember the Lord? It is a way of acknowledging/honouring his work on the cross. Take a look at this scripture that shows the work of the body:

Matthew 8:17
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Now not discerning the Lords body is the problem for most believers. We do not believe we are completely healed. We believe we are completely forgiven but we do not really believe we are completely healed in our body. That’s why we take communion to get healed. No we should do it to thank God for the healing he gave us at the cross. Have you noticed we do not take communion to be forgiven. Why? Because we already honour the work of forgiveness but we don’t honour the work of the body. The work of the body is just as perfect as the work of the blood. Thats why apostle Paul rebuked the Corinthians for not discerning the body.

1 Corinthians 11:29
For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

Another translation says “not honouring the Lord’s body”. We believe are sins have been put away by revelation but we don’t believe the same for sickness. I’ll ask you this? Do you still sin? Yes! but yet you still believe Christ put away your sins completely. So the same is for sickness. Do you believe your sickness has been put away? Yes! So now when you do get sick keep confessing you are well and take communion as a way of honouring and remembering Christ.

Now lets take a look at tithing and offerings:

Proverbs 3:9
Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops

Can you see that honour has to also do with money. Lets look at another scripture:

Deuteronomy 8:18
But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

But how? How do you remember God? I submit the answer is in the Proverbs 3:9. Honour also means to “remember” or “acknowledge”. I will give this analogy. There is a father and son. The father gives the son pocket money but a time comes when the son goes into business with the father. The father uses his expertise as managing director to prosper his sons business but at the end of the year the son pays his father the same salary as the toilet cleaner. If you were that father would you want to work for that business? No!! why? Because you have just been dishonoured. You value yourself very highly. You may still give your son pocket money out of love but you will no more contribute to his business.

That is how are relationship is with God. He is our father but he is also our business partner so make sure you honour him with the tithe which is 10% of your salary and your offering which is 10% minimum.

If you really study the bible you will see by revelation that the tithe and holy communion go together. Melchizedek gave Abraham bread and wine and Abraham responded with the tithe.

Genesis 14:18-20
And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

This bread and wine is a picture of the holy communion but recently God showed me another instance where the holy communion and tithe come together.

Psalm 116:12-14
What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

Hold on a minute!! Did I just see that? Do you see the revelation?. What do you think the cup of salvation is?. It has to be the holy communion. The holy communion is actually a picture of our salvation which is remission of sins and health for our bodies. David is actually speaking in the psalms and he says he will pay his vows. Wait!! that also sounds familiar. Lets look at what Jacob said:

Genesis 28:20-22
And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God: And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

C
aou see the languaw concerns the tithe and David mentioned the holy communion and tithe in one chapter. Now the tithe is not brought to God to be rich but it is brought to honour him. No amount of money can truly honour God because he is too rich. If you were earning £2 a week, you won’t go and honour/appreciate a millionaire that helped you with even 90% of it. But God has ordained that he will accept 10% of whatever you earn as honour. He has also ordained that he will accept holy communion as a form of honouring his work on the cross.

Now that you have honoured him, what is your benefit? Did you know that when you are living in honour, you are actually taking actions of faith in that area of honour. Let me explain. You only honour someone when you have received something from them. You only thank them when you have received the gift they have for you. You only appreciate/remember them when you have received from them. Well take a look at what Jesus said:

Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Believe you have received it!!. That’s what the tithe and holy communion do for you. They give you faith that says you have already received the health, forgiveness and wealth. If you have not received them then why honour God with those actions?. No child of God you already received health, forgiveness and wealth at the cross and now you are honouring God with the tithe and holy communion. See, this is what will happens afterwards:

IT WILL BE YOURS!!

You will now experience more health and wealth in this physical life. God has to now make sure it is yours in the natural. Your part is only to just take those actions of faith and it is Gods part to make it yours. Forgiveness is constant. So keep living a life of honouring God.
